‘Capacity Mini-legal Kits’ have been developed by Capacity Australia for use by health care professionals (Psychiatrists, Geriatricians, General Practitioners, Psychologists, Nurses and others) in assessing decision-making capacity.
The Kits are B4, 8 page, coloured brochures with essential information on capacity fundamentals. They present the formal legal test for capacity in each decision-making domain in an easy to follow, but comprehensive manner. While the Kits focus on dementia, they are also applicable to other impairments or disabilities which may affect a person’s decision-making capacity.
Mini-legal Kits are now available for:
- New South Wales;
- South Australia;
- Western Australia; and
- A guide for Health Care Professionals in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)
